2010 - Newmarket Borough Council is merged into Auckland Council
2010 - The Newmarket Viaduct redevelopment begins
2010 - 'Knockknock' by Seung Yul Oh is installed on the corner of Teed Street and Osborne Street
2012 - The Newmarket Stage Company is established
2013 - 'Andale Andale' by Reuben Paterson is installed on Remuera Road

2014 - George Henare becomes patron of the Newmarket Stage Company

2015 - 'New Marks' is a community art project that sees various street artists from Auckland and throughout the country to come and transform Nuffield Lane into an eclectic display of talent. Over a weekend, various street artists such as BMD, Berst, Erika Pearce and Charles and Janine Williams help Jonny 4Higher create a series of eye catching murals. You can see some of the works here
2016 - Jonny 4Higher installs a 'Newmarket business' family tree on the side of the Olympic Pool. You can see the artwork here
2017 - The Teed Street Upgrade is completed as part of the Waitematā Local Board’s Newmarket Laneways Plan. The upgrade greatly improves footpath widths, enable easier pedestrian movement along and across the street. The concrete carriageway, a remnant of the areas light industrial past, are retained and complemented with new quality paving materials, bespoke street furniture and upgraded lighting. Native evergreen street trees are planted within bio-retention tree pits and help significantly improve stormwater quality. You can read more about the Teed Street upgrade here.
2017 - 'Heliograph' by Ray Haydon is installed on Teed Street
2017 - Flox collaborates with Blunt Umbrellas and installs a mural on York Street. You can read more about this artwork here
2017 - Westfield close Two Double Seven, in preparation for renovation
2018 - Melinda Butt completes a mural that beautifies and activates the alleyway between the Teed Street Larder courtyard and Bourke Street. A contemporary exploration of colour and form can be seen as you walk through the connecting streets. You can see this artwork here
2018 - Jonny 4Higher installs a forest mural on the outside of Teed Street Larder. You can see the artwork here
2019 - Westfield re-open a renovated Two Double Seven
2019 - Flox installs 'Te Tī Tūtahi' at 242 Broadway (the entrance to Station Square). You can read more about this artwork here
2020 - Westfield open a redeveloped 309 Broadway, becoming New Zealand's premier lifestyle, entertainment and shopping destination. International luxury fashion stores open within the complex cementing Newmarket as New Zealand's premium shopping precinct
2021 - Laken Whitecliffe installs a mural on the side of 88 Broadway. You can see this artwork here
2022 - The NBA's Arts & Heritage Manager, Di Goldsworthy, retires after serving Newmarket and the wider Auckland community for more than 27 years. Read more about Di here
2023 - Senior students from Newmarket Primary School work on a research project to find out more information about the soldiers whose names appear on the memorial stones in Newmarket Park. Each year on ANZAC Day the Newmarket community gathers to commemorate our fallen servicemen and women. You can read more about the project here.
